Powered to RACE – Wingman Program
The Wingman Program provides people with intellectual or physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in local fun runs, 5k’s, 10k’s, half marathon or longer running events with the assistance of a Wingman Team. The Wingman Team supports their assisted athlete through a race and across the finish line.
For assisted athletes with physical disabilities, the Wingman Team will push their athlete in an adapted running jogger (provided by P2M) through the race. For athletes with intellectual disabilities, the Wingman will race beside their athlete, letting the athlete set the pace by either walking, walk/run or running the race, providing emotional support and encouragement, as well as direction to and through the finish line.
P2M provides all of the equipment and guidance necessary, including pairing Wingmen and assisted athletes, orientation for Wingmen and racing opportunities to ensure that each participant feels the thrill of competition as they race and cross the finish line.
Assisted Athletes
Opportunities for any disability and any age. Our assisted athletes include those with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Spina Bifida, and many other disabilities. Assisted athletes receive great swag, awesome support and enjoy the physical, social and emotional benefits of staying active and involved in the community.

Wingman Teams
Opportunities for runners to join a team to serve an assisted athlete by providing support throughout a race. Wingman Teams push athletes in our adapted running joggers or walk/run with those with intellectual disabilities that do not need adapted equipment. All Wingmen provide friendship and encouragement, so the assisted athlete has an awesome race experience.
