Mike and Sharyn King’s love for Jesus Christ compelled them to start Powered to Move in 2013. Mike came to faith at an early age, but his paralysis at the age of 20 caused him to grow closer to Christ and understand Christ as his one true HOPE.

Sharyn came to faith later in life, but experienced God’s love and acceptance after years of feeling something was missing in her life. She came to understand it was SOMEONE, not SOMETHING that was missing from her life.

They prayed this new ministry would point people to Christ as their source of power in overcoming difficulties like disabilities. Through their love of being active and healthy, they wanted to help others with disabilities see that they could be active and healthy too, but more than that, they could have a thriving relationship with God, who will power them not just to move but to live a life of purpose and meaning.
